i found this sticking out of a high spot on a gravel bar, i suspect its a bison tooth but it seems much larger than it should be, ive found horn cores and part of the skull and a few leg bones up river but this tooth seems oddly dense and could be fossilized... or buffalo teeth are just dense i don't know... what i do know is its an upper right molar of some animal

Bison for sure. You should keep an eye out for more in the area.

i may already have his horn cores a bit of his skull and parts of a leg i check up river from time to time but i cant find where its washing out. this tooth seems heavy for a tooth so I'm thinking somewhat petrified if so its not the same animal but I'm not an expert on buffalo teeth... they may be dense to begin with
