Southeast Kansas fossils

Where’s the closest place to southeast Kansas to find something other than your typical limestone fossils?? I’ve always wanted to find some trilobites or fish or plant matter. All I’ve ever found is limestone deposits. Thanks for any info

Probably Colorado. Kansas sits on limestone. We've found good fossils at Perry Lake in the outcroppings and my scout leader found a 4 ft petrified bone of something sticking out of the bank of the Delaware river when i was a kid but it's under the lake now.

I’ve fished that lake several times. That’s crazy, too bad it’s under now. Hopefully sometime I can go out and find something decent
