Hi all,

Just got back from the Calvert cliffs in Maryland. Found a few nice things, but am wondering what these may be. Any ideas?

Is this a baby Meg tooth? A few hunters said it definitely could be, but they couldn’t 100 percent identify.

And finally (guessing this is some type of shell?)

Also, here is my big find for the day on that day! Couldn’t be happier with it. Never found a Meg before.

Very nice meg! Congrats!

The "v' shaped black piece looks like part of a ray plate. The white piece looks like part of a shell. Pictures of a square looking piece look like ray teeth pieces. Hard to say w/o closer-up pics.

Were you at Brownies?

Thanks! I was pretty set back when I stumbled upon it. I’ll see if I can capture better photos when I get home from work today. The small white piece (not the shell looking one) that looks like a molar is really interesting. I want to say it’s a tooth of some sort but I can’t be certain. It just has that look to it.

I couldn’t believe it. It must have just freshly dropped from the cliffs! If that thing was still around, I would not go in the water. No freakin way.

So, obviously it’s not easy to find this species. But does anyone go to Calvert often? If so, what’s the probability of finding one? Aren’t there great whites too which are big? How often do they turn up?

This guy is going in a special case tomorrow after I purchase one. I want to make sure I remember this thing like the day I found it. But a spear would be pretty badass!
