Looks like a fossil to me. Possibly the center section of a large trilobite.

Some Genus of trilobites could grow to over two feet long. But I don't think that is where this is leading.

But I do see where Kray had the idea. He may be correct. Hard to tell from images.

Thanks, Charlie. The thought of a mastodon or mammoth did not occur to me, and I believe that's a more likely candidate.
