Found this in a creek near Bridgetown, Nova Scotia. Was interesting enough to pick up and bring home but jo clue what it is. Closest I could find online were coprolite or impactite. Thoughts?

A good cleaning with a tooth brush under water would give us better view of the rock itself. Its a foliated metamorphic rock, so gneiss is my first guess, schist my second.
