This is one of 3 posts for my March 18 Trip.
Found this sample and took because filled with small shell fossils. Started working it and was able break open this area. Out comes almost round fossil. CLosest thing I hasve found so far was a mushroom. No idea yet, but I will keep looking. Any ideas?
The last pic is why I took this sample.
Thanks for the look... 8)

It appears to me to be a cast of a clam. That is where the interior of the clam is filled with sediment and the shell is desolves leaving a rough copy of the clam.
