Ooops, one of 4 posts for my March 18 Trip.
Almost forgot, here are some before and after pics of the small shells I found on this trip. The shell mounted on wood was from last fall, the other two are from this trip. They kinda look like little hearts.
I am currently experimenting with enamel coatings.

nice fossils, but I would do some research before coating them with anything. It always amazes me to find shells at these heights.

There are seashells on top of Mt. Everest (at least where there are bare spots). 400 million years gives the earth's crust a lot of chances to move. That's only 0.001" yearly rise to get from sea level to 35,000 feet.

We just can't grasp geologic time.
