    Spike axe...

    Only one I have seen from around here. (...but I certainly have'nt seen everything! )

    That is called an ice hatchet or ice axe used in the trade in sliding blocks of ice around with the spike and chopping them with the elongated blade. If it were a spike tomahawk it the blade length would be shorter than the spike--not longer. Hope that helps.
