Got out for a while Sunday & today. Still frost in the ground .
First pic is Sundays finds.
Second pic is todays----all from Fur Trade era Indian village (1780-1820) except the top right two buttons in second pic.(from an 1830-40's site)
The thimble middle-left is actually two thimbles "nested" together. The inner thimble is pierced for wearing as a "tinkler".
The half-round,open fretwork silver piece has been cut from a brooch by the Indians & pierced for use same as the triangles.
That's a flattened ram-rod thimble above the regular thimbles.

Dale, what Indian tribes are these things from--I know that's a stupid question but my daughter and I were wondering. She is facinated with Indian history and since I homeschool her, we do lots of research together and things like this hold her interest!! Very cool stuff you're finding!! sandcreek4
"I will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, who summons you by name". Isaiah 45:3
