Early 1800's pipe. (Find of a life time)

My buddy found it at a garage sale this weekend. Kinda.

Find of a lifetime? Um, I'd say so! I have found the exact lead wiring in a clump and I had a feeling it belonged to a pipe. Then I knew for sure when I found a pipe like the one pictured except the material was brittle, wanting to crumble and I sifted most of the pieces that did. The material is like bone but it has the same lead framework. I also have three stone bowls, one with a part of the base but those could be prehistoric.
To see one like your friends in that condition, is unbelievable! Love to hear more details on the finding of that pipe. I have to go and wipe the drool off. Thanks.
    Dave.
