    Pewter ring info?

I found this pewter ring the other day. Appears to be hand made. Would anyone have any guesses as to the shape of the ring? Seems unusual, I have not seen anything like this before

Do you think it's a pipe inlay?

Definitely not pipe inlay and definitely not the first hand crafted pewter ring to be found in that area. I don't believe its a fishing lure either SteveO, but an excellent guess.

Not the easiest shape in the world to cast... except on a pipe. I would look to Canada or Europe for origins for cast rings. All the Native castings I know of are from open face molds. Except on pipes.

FWIW the reason I say inlay is that the radius/curvature of the decoration is the same as that of the band. That's not the case in platform type rings (Jesuit etc.).
