    Need ID help please

A couple recent finds. It took 3 days of work, but I think it was worth it. Not sure how old the crucifix is, but would love to know what you think. Does anyone recognize the mark?

Looks old! Is there a mark on the back of the cross at all?

No marks on the back. The quality seems pretty crude. Old, but how old? I foud it near the lakeshore in NE Wisconsin near a brooch and a tinkler earlier this summer. The only modern finds were SS Shells.

What is the metal? And can the dug lead or pewter in your area show such little signs of oxidation? I've never paid close attention but think they might have used the same style for a long time, so it's the metal I question. Most early ones I've seen dug are brass or copper, not white metal, and if they were, would probably be very rough.

Silver would not be in bad shape at all. The thinner pieces would look exactly like the top picture, but some thing a little thicker (silver) like the cross (which appears cast) would hold up considerably better.
They are excellent and very rare finds. Good job!
