Guy,

I don't know what to say....a fur trade silver arm band with that amount of detail is really over the top....

Is there a maker's mark on it?

This picture is of a reproduction.
Showing it to show similarity to British design.
Modified to suit a clan ,or culture, in Guys pieces design perhaps?
Jesuit-trade-rings.jpg

The other pic just looks interestingly similar, though many coats of arms may.
soup-line.jpg
(A proposed coat of arms for the city of New Amsterdam, featuring beavers representing the fur trade, circa 1630. (New York Historical Society).)

I must vote banner to combat jealousy.:laughing7:

Though it is a phenomenal find and fantastic to see. I have never ever seen someone have two Banners on the top at the same time. This in no way diminishes the significance of the find.
I an glad we get to appreciate this item and hope you can understand the thinking behind this. It was the same when the guy kept pulling up the long strands of gold links from a ship wreck. It made banner but as he found items he kept posting them to the one banner thread. They all were fantastic like yours.
Happy Hunting Guy and hope you keep finding these very rare items. If you want the two threads merged let moderation know. We are here to help all we can.

Another fantastic find.

Live pheasants weren't introduced to North America until 1881 so this pair were among the first.

What the ? :icon_scratch:
I just came by to see how the banner post was doing and now notice this?
Whoa dude! Did you find a spilled pack of trade goods in the water?
That armband is crazy! Some pseudo Eastern European coat of arms that I've never seen before.
Looked in all my books for a match on the maker's mark with no luck.
Hardy has "The Covenant Chain" which has the most Quebec silversmiths listed, so I'll mention this to him.
Another banner find my friend. :hello2:
Huge congrats Guy!
