Awesome finds Guy!
Although I've found cut silver rolled into hair tubes, I've never found an actual manufactured hair tube with the silversmith's mark.
I do recognize the "M" from a brooch in my collection that is "P.M" or also found as "PM" (without the dot) that was Paul Morand (1819 to 1836) from Montreal.
Looking at your piece, it's obvious there's another letter worn before the "M."
There are other maker's that have a surname "M" but "P.M." produced a lot of silver trade goods and is the most likely candidate IMO.
Love both of your finds!
Cheers,
Dave.

That hair tube is pretty epic...

Do the marks generally mean slightly later in the era, are the earliest pieces unmarked?

Thanks a bunch for sharing...
