    Neat ring brooch

Hi all... This is a ring brooch, a bit flattened. Appears to be silver. It looks like a trade item to me though the wavy line around the ring is a bit unusual. There seems to be a few similar examples in Lar Hothem's book. Anybody come across one like this before?

Never seen one until now...Pretty simple design unlike the ones I googled. Good find though!

Thanks for the reply. Brooches like these are some of the most common trade silver items.

It looks very much like a hand wrought buckle.

    That's a good find.
I found a ring brooch very similar to yours in Vicksburg, MS several years back. I figured it was traded to the local indians by the Spanish, British or French. All 3 were in the area.
    Congrats on your find!!
