I posted in today's finds but I wanted to share these items in the Fur Trade section as well for any others doing research

Thanks to all who contribute and share images for the rest of us to review and compare with, without it I wouldn't know what tinklers/ear drops/trade axes/Robert Cruickshank/mini-brooch stuff even was. Especially tinklers, without finding this site they'd probably end up in the "black totes of rusty junk" that I usually find at logging scores

A few "what is it" questions specifically for Fur Trade
1) The large piece of jewelry? looks like a wagon wheel and possible silver or alloy (rang at 40 with Garret Ace)...Does it have a name or type associated with its design?
2) The large ornate button, swirl pattern with a flower...Is this French/British/Canadian? I cant find any similar button pattern anywhere else
3) The large roll of copper? I dont know if this is a super tinkler or possible raw material for them to work with. Looks pounded shut on one end with a possible hole drilled thru it that was later broken off

Today was a large mission with family and friends on some untested ground, I thought we might find some square nails and a headstamp but was not prepared for this kind of day!!

Best of luck on your next hunt

As I said in the "Today's Finds" Forum, great finds!
The big wheel could be an ear spool....Pewter or silver? Can't tell without handling it....
Last year I found an almost identical pewter button, possibly English (on a "Fur Trade" site) Can't show you a pic., because I misplaced it.:dontknow:

Really nice finds. Any details you can share on where/how you found them (woods, by a river, by a rock outcropping etc) and were they all in a small area or spread out?

Notice the silver piece in the middle , very similar
I thought it was an owl pen or broach
All from a 1700s site
