Trade silver .... something

[Older The Better]

Found on a bluff top that has yielded other trade goods including rings, arrowheads, double sided awls and gun parts. The only modern trash has been shell casings and slugs.

It rang up 82 on one pass and 85 on the next. That puts it squarely in the silver range. I didn’t do anything but wash it under the sink. If it is silver and a trade item I’d love to know more about it

It defiantly appears to be a silver item. I would think that the spoon locket is a good guess.

Other thought maybe a clipped edge from a silver trinket, supposedly there was a trading post nearby, could have been a form of payment

Hard to say bud, would not be from a Trade Cross. I think that your first guess would be more in order or very close

Going back to your question on the other thread again found with clipped copper pieces, what appears to be a tombac button, some sort of washer type item and a round ball

I think that if you magnify that washer , it may just be a home made button that lost its shank . I noticed a soldering build up around the centre where a shank may have been.
