    questions on some finds

    Hello everyone,
I have several questions that I thought someone out there might have answers for. These questions aren't strictly about "fur trade items" but are in the ballpark. In the first photo are items from a singular site. They include a gun flint, some musket balls, and some mystery items.

question 1-What are the lead slug like items?
question 2-The flat lead item is hammered about dime thin, any ideas of its purpose?

The button is lead and appears old , is it contemporary to the muskets?

The third photo features a flat lead button with tear drop holes. It was found at a completely different site. Any ideas of age? Also pictured are associated finds.

    Re: questions on some finds

The first button could very well be a pewter military button from the location I found it in. I also figured the lead scraps to be old as well I just wasn't sure if others find things similiar. Thanks again for the help, Unitas

Unfortunately there is nothing on the buttons front. It's flat and smooth.

Nice--What's the time period on the pipe? I have one just like it. What's next to it?

The item next to the pipe is an old pocket knife.I'm not exactly sure about the time period on the pipe, my guess is 1840's to 1860's?,Unitas
