This is an oldie, but goodie

Three men on a golf trip check into a hotel and the clerk asked them to pay $30 for the room, which they gladly did. Later that afternoon the manager was going over the receipts and knew that the price should have been $25. He called a bellhop and explained that he would have to return the $5.00 to the three men. On his way to the room, the bellhop realized that they wouldn't be able to split it between them. So when the bellhop got to the room he refunded each man one dollar with apologies and kept the other two. Now each man paid $9.00 x 3 = $27 plus the $2 the bell hop kept, for a total of $29.00. What happened to the $1.00
