Lionel Chesapeake Flyer 6-1586
My $20 winter garage sale find, didn't even haggle on this one. Box is rough but the engine/cars are excellent but the transformer "clicks" every few seconds and train does not operate.
Anybody know if there is a built-in circuit breaker on the transformer? Appears to be a mid 70's set, appreciate any assistance.
(o-27 gauge I do not believe the "old Milwaukee" car is original to the set)

Your train was made from 1975-77 . There should be some local shops that can fix the transformer. With the box I'm thinking you shoudl be able to get @ 150 bucks maybe more.

I'll probably hold onto this one, I had intended to use a section of the attic for a HO scale layout for the boys but this may work better if I can get it running. I did note this scale of model train is rather pricey.
We did have a model railroad shop here but it (unfortunately) closed a few months back, appreciate the input.

A replacement transformer can be found at Colonial Photo and Hobby in Orlando, Florida. I wouldn't mess with an old transformer unless you want to burn your house down.
