S.I. 1967 back issues: Clemente, Alcindor, Nicklaus
Hello Friends,
Been a while since I've posted, but had to share these finds. I went to an estate sale this morning and found three 1967 back issues of 'Sports Illustrated' featuring covers of Jack Nicklaus winning the U.S. Open in his "Fat Jack" days, Roberto Clemente in mid-stride and Lew Alcindor (a.k.a Kareem) dunking the ball for UCLA! Looked them up in the S.I. vault online and found they're worth around $20 apiece --- paid $1.50 for all three.... Also found a thick book on American folklore for $2 all said some interesting throwback reading is ahead of me.
Happy Hunting!

just remember that the most important part on mags is the
label...or lack of should i say...
vintage mags that were bought OFF THE RACK ..
at an actual store are worth A LOT MORE
than the ones that were mailed and have somebodys address
label on the cover...
