    White's Metal Detector

A White's Model 63 TR, $20. It's a pretty basic model, but it sure beats no MD at all. After getting there I expected to find a sluice, but there wasn't one.

But I would've traded it just to hear the owner's stories--just from looking through the items you could tell he'd lived an amazing life: Pilot and aircraft builder, big game hunter, fisherman, photographer and projectionist, mechanic, carpenter, veteran, and so on. There were also about 60 soft-sided rifle cases; his great nephew said he had one of the most complete Colt collections in the US (none of which I could've afforded even IF they'd been for sale ).

    I wish I'd known him.

    Re: White's Metal Detector

What a coincidence, I just got done watching Second Hand Lions with my son and find this post. Congrats on the Whites find!
My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
