Had time to hit a few garage sales early this AM. the first few were junk, junk, junk.
then found a pretty good estate. Had some cool old vacuum bottles, seltzer bottles, and cameras
Almost pulled the trigger on a couple of cameras but none were in really good condition and they wanted $15-20 for them.
I don't know much about vintage cameras but I got lucky in not buying them-they were worth only about what they wanted for them.
I did get a nice large Pyrex amber mixing bowl and an Anchor hocking casserole for $3
Couple more places-piles of trash
Then I hit an estate sale in an older neighborhood
Walked into the living room and as i looked around, saw back in a corner, almost hidden by piles of junk, was what I recognized ( even with my limited knowledge) as a old spotting scope.
BL scope 003.JPG

It looked really high quality.I picked it up and it, with the tripod was heavy.
Then I saw Bausch & Lomb-they make eyeglass lenses now, but they used to make extremely high quality scopes
It was attached to a Davidson Star D tripod- a rock solid all metal tripod
I asked the lady if I could test it outside-everything worked great.
She said the price was $20 firm which I was happy to pay.
Got home and checked Ebay, a similar BL vintage scope recently sold for $255 :hello2:

That's a tremendous buy! I have a B&L scope, just need a tripod. I resized your pic, for better viewing.

 RR
