Flea market: Portrait of 3 asses

The first ass in the photo below seems to have a horrible deformity -- his eye is half way down his snout. He seems to be having a hearty laugh though at the ass on his back. He's turned around backwards and seems to be trying to use the tail as a bridle!

Maybe, however they are both having a laugh at the 3rd ass - the one behind the camera - who bought this on the seller's word that it was 800 silver. As you can see, just a little polishing revealed a thin coating of silver over copper. Sometimes I'm an easy target. Fortunately it only cost me $5. I hope I at least got an interesting post out of it.

It's a lady's pin. It only about 1.5" across. The back has "80" stamped on it.

My photo technique: Use macro mode. Use a tripod. Throw a white pillowcase over bare bulbs to diffuse the light. Take 1 pic no flash, 1 pic fill flash, 1 pic auto flash. Compare. This one was no flash. Crop closely. Re-size to 700 or so pixels wide.

Next time I must remember to blow the cat hair out of the picture. Yes, that is a cat hair resting on the burrows knee, and another one in the upper left corner.

Cat hair is in the picture, no wonder I could not wipe it off. My cat likes to lay on my keyboard and get hair on the screen all the time.
