    Help with some old Spurs.

Along with the weekend's garage sales, there was a storage bay clean-out ad. I found these old spurs. They appear to have small silver overlays, but no brand name anywhere I've looked.

Any ideas about their age or kind?

Where do I start to learn about them?

    Thanks,
    Bill

How about some side view photos to see the shape of them. Do they stick to a magnet? They mark could have worn off also. I don't know much about spurs but I know that those who do can tell a maker sometimes just by the shape of them. Here are some to look at-

Thanks for the link, I check it out.

Here are some extra photos. A magnet is attracted to all parts of each spur.

That was a good buy, Bill .
My husband has a similar pair that belonged to his grandad. His are "McChesney" spurs and are marked on the outside band by the buttons. Here's a pic.

Even if they arent silver, they would
    make a nice conversational piece.
