    Problem with a Ebay Buyer

I am having a problem with a ebay buyer, They reported me as misrepresenting a item. I wrote in my description that I didn't know anything about the item an made no claims to conidtion an I said to look at the pictures an determine if you want to bid.. it was polly pocket lot an apparently there was broken an torn peices in the lot..I picked up a bag full of this stuff an dumped it out an took pictures an paid for zoom for the buyer to be able to see exactly what they was getting.. what do you Ebay seller think about this? they want a refund I paid over 5.00 in shipping from my own pocket I charged 6.00 to ship but cost a lil over 11.00 to ship an I have no returns on my auction...

The buyer has been a pest since they bought the item I wrote will ship in 5 days in my auction an they was bugging me after 2-3day if it was shipped.. I was waiting for paypal to release my money into my bank account...

I could really use some opinions about this.. btw I didn't make any money on this auction...

Re: Problem with a Ebay Buyer

Some people don't read the auction descripition and expect item to be in mint condition even though seller may have posted used condition, or unknown condition......

I had the same thing on some 60 year old antique children books I sold, sold as used in "good condition" as books were in good condition, from and rear covers were in good condition no tears cuts or marks, spline in good condition, no torn, ripped or folded pages and book covers were there but they had slight damage which I told in the auction descripition, and showed in pictures but buyer still complained upon receipt that books were not as advertised.......I refunded his money.....

If your paypal is attached to your bank account, they can always pull your money back, if it is attached to your creditcard you do have some recourse through the creditcard company to dispute the claims....

Re: Problem with a Ebay Buyer

I only had 1 neg experience, in years on ebay, in the far past.

The ppl were jerks anyway. I gave them back their money, told 'em to have a nice life(in a nice way), and not to bid on any of my auctions, anymore.

When they put neg feedback up, I brought to light, their inability, to know how to deal with ppl, in a fair and honest manner, disputed it, and had it taken off!

I always had 100% feedback. Even when a lady bought a Harmony Kingdom, polar bear peice, in Australia. The post office sent it to Rio de Janero! Took her two months to get it, but we all laughed about it, as it was CLEARLY the post offices' fault. We all hoped we could get sent to Rio for 2 months!

Good luck, let us know how this washes out for ya!

I just read digger stuff, yeah, that resolution center, I went through that too, it was so long ago, I forgot about that.

I've never had this problem yet. You said they "reported" you, does this mean they opened a case for "item not as decribed" in the Resolution Center? If that's the case then let it run it's course, see what happens. If you clearly stated what you say you did, then I don't see where they have any recourse. Also, it sounds like you need to invest in a good scale and/or research shipping rates before (or while) listing, if your having to pay out of your pocket for shipping. Especially since Ebay now takes a percentage of that too. Here is the link for USPS rates which is who I always use because I haven't found where UPS is cheaper ever, yet. http://www.usps.com/prices/welcome.htm

I agree with Diggummup--You need to let it run its course through the Resolution Center . You should tell ebay that you clearly stated the condition of your items and that apparently the buyer can not read. There are times when I think ebay has lost the balance between the buyers and sellers. They give too much power to the buyers (and there are plenty of buyers who will abuse that power!).
Hope it all comes out okay for you creeper!

Re: Problem with a Ebay Buyer

What a crock. This is a big problem with ebay.
Was it Ebay or Paypal? (Even though they are the same parent company)
What's to stop an unscrupulous buyer from upgrading used items that they already have that aren't in good shape and switching them with the better ones they just bought and then filing a claim to get their money back?
Did you receive the items back already? What's to keep the buyer from keeping it? I don't get it.

PM me- What's the buyers name?, Does he sell?

    t's like the old saying:
Give a friend $20.00 and if you never see them again, it was well worth it!

Try not to be angry, we all seem to have a jerk, attach to us sometimes, but usually, not for long.
Be done with them, click your heels 3 times, and ban them from any of your auctions!
And keep doing, what you gotta do! Don't let a jerk, start trying to think, he can yank your chain!

If you get neg feedback, dispute it, with all the proof, and tell 'em, even if you don't side with me, and take it down, I know, and that's good enough for me!

Past is history isn't it? Live, learn, and keep going forward! Don't let a negative past situation, keep causing you to have, a present negative error of thought and actions, my friend!
With much luck and love to ya, Patsy

Re: Problem with a Ebay Buyer

I am writing this email to apologize for flying off the handle to quickly, I called Ebay to rip them a new ahole an they explained that Ebay is giving me my money (26.00)back an Ebay is eating the cost (26.00) refunded backto the buyer... So I get my money back an she gets the polly pockets plus 26.00 of Ebay's money... They claim it won't affect my account any... We shall see I will be keeping a close eye on my ebay /paypal account to make sure....

yeah me neither Diggum, but I know I sounded ******ed cause I kept saying I am getting my money an ebay is paying her the 26.00 an she keeps the item? they kept saying yes it is part of ebay protection rules for anything under 25.00 purchased price with out shipping included... they claimed neither me or the buyer was at fault... but to me the buyer was at fault for not looking at the pics an bidding...

LOL had the same thing happen, but the guy did not get his money back. Funny , Ebay should be for the seller more than the buyer , the time we put into putting things on that site and shipping, etc. They should give sellers more rights than buyers. Always describe your items to the fullest. If it has a chip, say it has a chip. Use a ruler next to it if its small under 12". Always post the pic so they see the damage. Tell them it is a USED item, describe every single thing on it. When you post , have a disclaimer on the bottom of the description, saying bid only if have read and understand the description of this item if not PLEASE ASK A QUESTION i will tell you. This may stop some from bidding, but its a way to cover your butt on ebay too. Ebay suc_s!!!!!!

Re: Problem with a Ebay Buyer

In eBay's overzealous attempts to further squeeze and regulate sellers, they have left the back door open for the buyers to start scamming now. After I got two identical copy/paste emails (both from Canada BTW) claiming "a small seam split in the upper left hand corner of the album jacket" and demanding a "partial refund", I stopped selling my records on eBay. Seriously, I think there is a vinyl message board out there with a copy/paste message to use for getting half off BUY IT NOW used vinyl records.

My favorite eBay buyers would have to be the ones that pay with an "e-check" that takes like a week to clear, then are all over you about shipping out the item. Those guys are super cool.

Where are you exactly in South Carolina? I live in Northeast Georgia, which is near Oconee County, Anderson, Seneca, Clemson, ect.

I have a antique booth that I have been selling mine out of. I have collected records for many years, and now I am thinning out probably 95% of my entire collection. I sell about as much there as I did on eBay as far as the records go. I am also enjoying not having to spend .65 cents each on record mailers and $$$ for gas to get to the post office. I could just list them all w/a Buy It Now! and put them in my ebay store to sit until they sell, but I have been trying to only use eBay for higher ticket items as of late. The profit margin on a $5.00 record weighed against the time spent typing, taking photographs, answering emails, ect., just isn't enough for me to mess with. I'd rather waste my time posting here lol!

I have thought about moving most of the 3000 or so I own to the antique malls "Music Section". You just number and price your vinyl and sit it out in a "community room" for records. You pay a percentage (10%) on all your sales, but you don't have to pay rent.
    LMAO
