silver without markings

i bought a chain today at a yard sale that appears to me to be sterling but can find no markings on it, anyone else come across any pieces that are real but have no markings?

Usually marked, you'll need to test it. Marks can be faked. Magnet first, then a test kit if not magnetic, or bring it to a resale shop to test for you. Good luck.

I have come accross a few things that are sterling and not marked. Most of them are earrings and a few bracelets and most are hand crafted. Only way to be sure is to acid test. Good luck.

I have found chains where the clasps had been replaced with cheap ones, but the chain was real
