    Thanks for the inspiration!

I found this blog for Garage Sale Finds after checking out the metal detecting forums off and on. I wish to thank you all for your inspiration because I started looking around at garage sales and found that there is quite a bit of money to be made off of things that you might not realize. I especially want to thank three different posters on this forum for pushing me from my inertia (even though you did not realize you did). Famous Turtle, for the insane amount of money he is clearing (and I do like your blog also), Cyber Dan, for his knowledge about gold and silver (and I have found his posting in a couple other forum here also - I became a "melter" and got a few hundred dollars from ARA in TX - thanks!) and diggummup for his all around knowledge and helpful links.

Here is a couple things I wanted to share since I started about six weeks ago:

If you EVER find a wooden model ship kit, grab it! Bought both of these for $4 a piece:

    /url]

And I just got this for $2 new ... gold and silver plated Mickey Mouse ... at the end of a second day of a garage sale (not posted yet on Ebay yet):

Again, thanks for the inspiration. Yes, I know I NEED to become a charter member (should have done that a long time ago!).

Thanks! It's nice to know that all this writing stuff I do for fun helps out. I have quite a few sales I need to write post on the blog.

If only there were two of me so I could blog and hunt. Wait.. 3 of me so I could blog, hunt and go to work. That would be

I have come across a couple model ships but they are few and far between. I didn't realize they go for that much!

I have had pretty good luck with models in general. I usually pick up any kit that appears to be complete if its under $5.00

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...#ht_1246wt_907

I recently picked these models for $4.00 ea. I grabbed the construction one because I could tell it was old, and the back to the future one because it was different. There was also a man on the moon one that I probably should have picked up but it was already started so I didn't grab it.

Thanks for the shout out and good luck.

I appreciate the props Ursus. I'm always on the lookout for models. I sold a Harley Davidson model a couple weeks ago that I picked up for a dollar.

It only sold for $19.99 but hey, I can deal with that profit margin.

I don't have anything listed now but I will tommorrow night. I've been slacking lately on my sales. Here's some of my recent feedback on items sold-

You'll notice the variety of things I sell, hence the ebay username.

I second the kudos to all the guys on this board! if it wasn't for FamousTurtle, Cyberdan & Diggummup I would have faced and even bigger (and much more expensive) learning curve. I seriously have learned so much from reading their posts and appreciate the knowledge, especially being a newbie.
