Re: Sterling silver flute
I don't know doodly about flutes. On your picture it looks to me like it says M3S. Is it possible that's the model? I did a search of completed listings on ebay for Gemeinhardt M3S. There were several completed sales in the $290-350 range.

Re: Sterling silver flute
The time to sell musical instruments is right after school has started. Start advertising in your local paper a week before school starts, to 2 weeks after school starts. You will sell it. It should go for $400-$500 minimum, if in good operating condition. If not, you will need to spend some bucks NOW to get the instrument in shape to sell it.
You should also prepare now for telling prospective buyers that the flute has X ounces of silver in it, which is also a precious metals investment.
I used to be a band teacher. I know a little about instruments.

Re: Sterling silver flute
Maybe you could do a one or three day auction on ebay and start the price at what the minimum you would take for it (include what ebay fees whould be). Just an idea.... Good luck!
