Re: My labor day weekend finds
Nice job, Famous. I see flatware all the time at yard sales, but have no idea what to buy and what to leave behind. If you want to check, this auction on Ebay is for the same exact vintage GE blender I picked up yesterday. What keywords, other than we spoke of on another thread would you suggest.

Thanks for your help.

That blender is awesome. Hmmm it has a look to it. Vtg 50s art deco streamline blender rockabilly barware cocktail mixer is what comes to mind for me.
Art deco is a stretch but I would put it in there and let the customers decide whether its art deco or not.

Re: My labor day weekend finds
So, I passed the Famous Turtle's 101 begginers picking class? LOL It caught my eye for sure. Thanks for your help. I will be posting it either tonight or tomorrow for a little less than the other one on Ebay. Thinking I am going to add Man Cave and 50's game room to the title. Believe it or not, I said to my wife when I picked it up off the table that I was thinking like Famous Turtle..............she just looked at me with a blank look on her face............she doesn't read the site, but she is a big help out there. Thanks again for responding, Famous.

Re: My labor day weekend finds
Nice they are selling pretty well!
I was just doing some research on some of my finds and I discovered something cool about that art deco clock I found. It turns out its actually a doorbell chime and a clock which is rare. I just emailed someone who restores old chimes to see he knew how much it was worth and how much it would cost to restore it if it doesn't work. Pretty cool stuff.
The picture attached is from a 1940s newspaper I found on ebay, and the an ad for the eternalight TV clock.

Does it have any markings on it? What kind of wood is it? It looks more home made to me. Danish Modern items are more artistic, but you are on the right track!
Here is a little trick that I use to teach myself about design and shapes. Go to google images and type in danish modern and just look at the pictures for about a half hour, pay close attention to the shapes and materials of all the items. Do this a couple of times a week and you will start spotting danish modern stuff or whatever else you are looking for. I use this method on almost every kind of design decor and I also use it to teach myself depression glass patterns.
