Scored big with a video thingy at Goodwill

Awhile back I came across something called a Canon "Video Visualizer" at a Goodwill thrift store. The box had been opened, but it was obvious that it was never taken out or used. I wasn't sure what the thing did, but it looked expensive, so I bought it for $25. After doing a little research, I discovered it was a device used in education or the corporate world to videotape small items, and sold for $2000 or so new. They were selling for around $500 on eBay, so up for auction it went. It sold for $300, less than I hoped for, but the proceeds went to purchase something I've wanted since I was a kid...a metal detector!
