    Pretty Good Weekend!

My fiance and I had a pretty good weekend at some garage and estate sales. We picked up two sets of silverware and as it turns out we found 5 sterling spoons (79 grams) in one and the other set is a WM Rogers and Co. that sells on ebay for $100-$150, we picked them both up for $40. At that same sale we got a sterling brooch weighing 23 grams for $3 and another sterling necklace 30 grams for $3 we also picked up a vintage Lindberg Coast Guard motorized model still in the box with the plastic around it for $3 and some vintage games from the early 70's for $2 each.....then to top it off the guy having the sale took me into his garage to show me his restored muscle cars.

We went to another sale and only bought a .25 cent necklace but the lady holding the sale said that if we buy something she will show us her husbands (who passed away) vintage motorcycle museum....I LOVE VINTAGE BIKES!!! I could't believe my eyes when she took us into the upstairs of her shop.....all the bikes have been restored with original parts and he had one of each year the Harley Davidson Knucklehead was made...see pics below...AMAZING if your into vintage motorcycles...this truly was the highlight of the day...besides just chatting with the lady and her two daughters and listening to her tell stories of her husband. The bike that doesn't have the gas tank is the one her husband was working on when he passed away....she is going to finish it for him. She also let me know that if I ever want to come by just stop as long as the gate is open.....I have a feeling I may find myself there often LOL

Today I picked up this mid century 'whats it' from an estate sale. I have posted pics below as well as in the 'whats it' forum because I just cant figure it out. At the last sale of the day we picked up a Playstation 2 with 10 games for $25 and a vintage Scrabble game with a rotating base for $5.

Have fun out there and enjoy the pics! If they upload sideways I apologize...not sure why this is happening somtimes.

I can't make out the mark on the back of the tray, can you? I don't know what it is, it looks Danish. It's hard to tell from the photo and the bowl with the two bars is throwing me off but it looks like a pepper mill and a salt shaker, is it?

    Re: Pretty Good Weekend!

There is a museum in Maggie Valley, NC that has a motorcycle museum. Everything from the very first HD to the very first motorcycle
ever created. The museum also had a couple of M*A*S*H motorcycles used on the set, several motorcycles used by various PD's throughout the years, many race trac bikes and tons of parts he uses to restore his finds along the way.

Great pictures and thank you for sharing a story that was truly enjoyable....
