Finally, I'll tell you about one of my latest scores. I recently moved into Pittsburgh from the suburbs. Naturally, I needed to find some auctions/thrift stores, etc around my new stomping ground. Lo and behold, there is an auction house about 5 miles from my place that every Tuesday does Estate sales. This is not one of those places that does evaluations on things and puts reserves on them, they just sell boxes of stuff and furniture for whatever someone will pay.
A couple day sago I went to my first auction at this new place. After registering, I went and dug through some of the boxes of stuff that were going to be sold. I really don't by furniture, so I was focused on the smalls. In the corner of one of the tables, I saw this OLD tacklebox that was relatively empty save for a few weights, about ten lures and acouple of cork bobbers. I could tell the lures were old, but I didn't know if they were collectible or not. Then I noticed in four of the trays on top, there were cardboard lure boxes that were turned upside down, being used as tray protectors. I thought that they may be old lure boxes, but I didn't want to remove them due to the fact that there were a lot of lookie-loos around. i figured if I could get the tackle box fairly cheap, I would buy it and hope they turned out to be something. I won the taklebox for $7.50.
When I got home I took the cardboard boxes out of the tray and was floored as to what they were.
One of them was an old Paw Paw Lucky lures box (the lures were in the tacklebox as well), I should get about $50 for it.

The second was a Wilder-Dilg lure #12. This is a super rare find especially with the box. I'm betting I get about $150 for it.

If you want to follow the auctions, here they are:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/250896723851...84.m1555.l2649
I spent a total of $28.50 at the auction, and will probably get at least 7 times my money back just from these two lures, and I still have a bunch of vintage clothes, marble, buttons, and assorted other stuff to sell!
Thanks for looking, and good luck in all your sales!

Re: Some recent sales and a huge score!
Great stories Kevo.
Some here (not me) would argue buying something for a $1 and selling for $10 is not worth mentioning and not a big deal. Too me anytime you can make 4x-10x+ on your money, its great! It all adds up.
Great find(s) at the auction, I've been doing better picking up odd-ball stuff at auctions then anywhere else. This week I picked-up a visual aid machine for $10. I plan to clean it up and bin it for $350. One sold recently for that, so I'll start there.
Thanks for posting your finds & Sales.

Great job on those lures!
Just curious, why do you put MUST LOOK in your auction titles? I've never understood that. Nobody types in "fishing lure must look" into their search. Especially now with the new ebay titles being longer, all somebody see is ... at the end of your title. Why not use more keywords like instructions or what kind of lures you are selling with them?

Awesome score on the lure boxes. I once sold a wooden Heddon box for a Dowgiac minnow for $410 on ebay. Also, check the tackle box for papers on the lures, as they are worth more than the lures many times.
