Newbie here looking for some info.

I have been doing the garage sale/estate sale thing for about a month and honestly I have been doing better than I have ever imagined.

I have learned a lot just from reading this forum. And I thank you all. I have been playing it safe mostly and picking up only $1 or $2 items for the most part. However I decide to take the plunge and broaden my knowledge base. Anyway I made a few purchases with little knowledge just to do it and learn from it mostly. I honestly don't care about making money on these purchases but just like the said items. Anyway any help giving me a rundown on this item would be most appreciated.

This is my first lamp purchase. I know some can be worth a lot. I bought this stiffel lamp for one reason, I knew there was enough brass in this beast to make money as scrap. I would prefer to sell it for more than scrap so any info on the lamp would be helpful, or any lamp buying tips. I paid $12.

My second purchase was a pair of H. Hargrove paintings. I picked them both up for $5 each and I know they can be valuable but honestly I just like his work and will put them on my wall for $5 each. Does anyone know the difference between a valuable Hargrove and a not so valuable without seeing them? The research I did was fruitless and to the best of my knowledge you need to be a Hargrove expert to be able to know what the hell is what. Supposedly he did this on purpose......

But thanks again for all the useful knowledge you have provided me.
