One of the things I got this past weekend was silver (Update 10-24-11)

Coins that is. I don't find too many coins at the garage/ estate sales and when I do the prices are usually over the top. I went to an estate sale on Friday and it was being put on by the womans daughter. Mom had just passed and dad was still there with her. She had a box full of coins I saw so I asked her if she was selling them. She said not yet she had someone coming over to look at them. So I told her i'd be back the next day and check back with her. I did and this is what I ended up with-

Everything is basically junk silver with no numismatic value. I asked her if they were priced accordingly because they had little price stickers on them in these tacky collector holders, she said yes. So, I added everything up and it came to $83.75. I told her i'd give her $80 and she said fine. I ended up with 1 1922 Peace Dollar, 11 half dollars including Barbers, Walkers, Bens and Kennedy's, 6 dimes a couple each of Barbers, Mercury and Rosie's, 7 quarters Barbers and Washington's, 13 silver war nickels, 1 40% half, 1 40% bicentennial quarter s mint, 2- 1982 Proof George Washington Commemorative Silver Half Dollar with Box, plus an Indian head cent and 3 uncirculated steel cents, a Buffalo and a Barber nickel and 1 clad half.
I think it adds up to around $250 in melt value.

I also bought a large lot of Royal Albert Old Country Rose pattern china. Probably about 60 something pieces. I paid $100 for it all, she was asking $150. But because some of it was modern made and not original marks I talked her down. I should still be able to piece it out and get about $250-350 on it. I'd take a photo but it has to wait, i'm not unpacking all that suff yet.

Oh yeah I got a 38 piece set of Towle Georgian House Flatware in the Churchill pattern for $10 at another sale. I'll see how it dores on Ebay. The replacements are like $10 for each individual piece.

Nice silver score Were you the one that posted the black and white angel fish sculptures a couple months ago? If so did you ever find out anymore about them?

Yes I was and no I didn't. They are sitting proudly on my coffee table in the living room.

Well, I ended up selling the coins for a total of $287.79 minus ebay/paypal fees totals $253.25. Not bad for an %80 dollar purchase. I sold the Georgian house flatware for $56.55 and a few oddball and newer pieces of Royal Albert are ending tonight. Total is around $80 so far on the 4 pieces selling. Still have all the good stuff.
