Possibly My Best Yard Sale Ever!!! (Updated)

And I only bought one item! Yesterday I had to go for an hour or a little more drive to an area of Maine I don't usually go to pick up a High Standard Sport King I had agreed to buy off the internet via email and phone calls earlier in the week. I talked my wife into riding along with me and she got her sister to stay with our six yr old daughter and take her to the little girl's b-day party that she had been invited to in the early afternoon. My wife and I very rarely get any quality time alone or pass up time with our daughter. I think the two are related. LOL But, when you don't have your first and only child until your early 40's, I think that is a common occurence. So, I had really been looking forward to this trip for the couple of days it had been arranged. My wife and I agreed to leave the house early and get a little yardsaling in on the way, not that we don't already enjoy that. Well, I know I am making a long story of this, but the very first sale we stopped at, which although it was early in the morning, was very small, was where it all happened......................as I was headed into the garage, which was set up with tables, I saw a Toro 724, two stage, electric start, snowblower...................with a sticker for $10 on it!!!! At first I thought it must be a mistake, or a child had put the sticker on it.....it had to atleast be missing a zero. Between my wife and I we picked out 5 DVD's that my daughter didn't have, they were marked a dollar a piece, my wife offered $4 for the lot and it was accepted. I then had to ask about the Toro. The lady asked how much she had on it, I said $10. She said, yes that was right. I asked if it worked and she said yes, it just hadn't been serviced yet for the winter. I gave her $10 more dollars and my wife gave me a hand getting it into the truck. She did say what do you want that for, you have a John Deere, but I gave her that "hush up, woman" look and wheeled it down the driveway before the woman could change her mind. The rest of the sales we hit were pretty uneventful, but the High Standard was in nearly new condition and will be 60 yrs old next month. I pretty much stoled that too for only $200 bucks, with holster, gun belt and a 2nd magazine. When We got home I got the snowblower out of the truck, checked the oil and gas and primed it and it fired right up. I have a guy interested in it and should find out tonight if he wants it for $250. Now I am telling my wife I got a free High Standard yesterday. LOL I hope you all had a great weekend and end up just as happy as I am about the sales.

The guy I offered the snowblower to for $250 backed out, sold it to another guy for $300!! Thank goodness the first guy backed out. LOL That was a great yardsale!!!

Down there even a brand name like Toro would be worth about $10. LOL
