just a little bit of gold for 50 cents

All the gold i was able to get last weekend was a 10K (tested 8K) chain and pendent. I took a gamble because I could see it was marked but it was white so I thought it might be fake.

I also got about 30-35 lbs of brass and copper so can't complain.

What might be my best buy (or just trash) I found a box of antique radio tuner belts. For all you youngins, on old radios you turn a dial to change the station and it is connected buy a drive belt (like on your car) to the actual channel tuner. There is probably over 200 different belts, all brand new in their envelope. I even got the guide that lists the radio with the size needed. Only paid $2 The hard part is to find a buyer.

I'm sure there is someone who would buy all those belts, lock, stock and barrel. Single ones are selling for $4-$10 a piece. I'd throw the whole lot on for .50 or $1 x's the number of belts and see where it goes. Especially since you have the guide that tells what radios they go to. Are they all tuner belts? No turntable belts?

Re: just a little bit of gold for 50 cents

I googled antique radio parts. even the knobs are expensive. makes me think of the parts I tossed when I moved...

I took a ring to a $-for-Gold to see what they pay (CyberDan's tip!) and how they figure the price for a rings with stones.

She measured the ring on a template that showed the carats and converted to grams, said she would take the diamonds
out and give them to me, they were only 1/4 c and she likes to buy bigger ones only.

so I ordered a template that has the different cuts and sizes on it up to 2c and a prong tool.

I forgot to ask how she figured the stone weight for the class ring.
Do you use a percentage for the stone's weight?
