Interesting situation I witnessed this weekend at a garage sale.
I stopped at a garage sale in a nicer neighborhood this weekend. It was very organized and the seller was a very nice woman. There were books, decorator items, higher end small appliances, clothes and immaculate toys. You get the picture. As I'm getting in my truck, out of nowhere, 5 or 6 cars and an SUV came racing down the street. They were honking their horns and yelling. They parked on the grass of adjacent lawns, sideways, and partially blocking the street. 5 or 6 people piled out of each car and they were running towards the sale across the lawn and everywhere. They were all talking and yelling and descended on the sale like a swarm of locusts. I 'm not trying to be offensive but they were all Hatian and very crude in their actions and language. This all took place in under a minute and the women was completely overwhelmed as they spread out and starting going through everything and bombarding her with questions. It honestly looked like a home invasion. Luckily her husband and someone else came out to help her. I was going to help also but my wife just wanted to get out of there. Another couple walking up turned around and went back to their car. I'm sure that not everything that left the sale was paid for. It appeared that this is a new tactic used to steal from garage sellers. There was no way you could keep an eye on everyone. There was easily 25-35 people total. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

As soon as you stated explaining what was happening I looked at your icon if you said you were from Florida. I was thinking Jamacian but you corrected me.
Time to pull out the shotgun, that was probably technically a home invasion. Bet there wasn't a green card amoung them.

Probably one of mine. They work in teams down here. Personally, they make me sick and shouldn't even be in this country. I'm gonna get in trouble one of these days over these uncooth, uncivilized, stinking bevy of thieves.
DOWN WITH AMERICAN DIGGERS, SAY NO TO SPIKE TV! THEY MAKE ALL OF US LOOK BAD!

Re: Interesting situation I witnessed this weekend at a garage sale.
You've evidently never tried to unpack at the Swap Shop, on free vendor day, 5:30 am! LOL!
Man, it's like turning down the wrong street in drug-town, and stopping at a stop sign! LOL!
SWARM! I can't stand it, either.
That's part reason why I don't even wanna bother with garage sales down here anymore.
Maybe if all good men/women do or say nothing to them about it, it'll keep on, (like how evil prevails).
But then, I said something to a shoplifter one day, almost got cussed out in public.
If I'd had told the security officer, he'd a just gone back to sleep!

Yesterday is history, tomorow a mystery. All we have is the here and now, it's a special gift. That's why we call it "The Present"

It's nice to live in America still. For those who have never lived or don't currently live in South Florida, you could never imagine what it's like. If America is a melting pot then this is the bottom of the barrel.
