It's great that you have the box, unfortunately 9 out of 10 Mccoy cookie jars aren't worth too much. $25-$30 on a good day. For $3 it was a great deal!

Here is a link to one that sold on Ebay. Vintage McCoy Mushrooms on Stump Cookie Jar 214 RARE Great Condition | eBay
It sold for $9.99. Hold on to it though because these items are in a soft market right now. Later it will have more value when the market recovers.

Thanks for the info. Is it really "rare" though? I didn't even realize it was a McCoy until I got it home. I figured, how can you go wrong with a $3 cookie jar in the original box. Worst case I can always use it to store all of the other stuff I bought today ;)

I never pass up a well known brand like McCoy when I see a deal. Good find.

It actually is one of the less common ones. Things go in waves so watch the market for it and when it gets back on the hot list sell....

Great looking cookie jar! You can't beat the price. I've always liked McCoy and collect McCoy planters (which are much more common than the cookie jars it seems).

Nice find!

If you look close at the last picture, there are finger print impressions of whoever worked on the glaze of this piece.

When I pulled up to this sale I was worried because they had a POD moving unit sitting in the yard. I guess they were in the process of cleanung out their father's (in laws) attic. You should have seen the amount of 1950-1980 stuff at that yard sale. I had to just walk away! No big money items, but most of tge stuff you could easily triple (or x10) if you had the time or space to do so. Sometimes I wish I could open up a shop just for the stuff I have stored in my attic. Either way, I was happy with my finds this weekend....now I just need one of those books I found today to be worth $15,000 ;)
