Who is the maker? Looks like "show pieces" instead of good old brands that have good steel and quality.

Today, I took what I'd collected in a 'snack baggie' full of "Old Timers", old original "Leatherman's" and several other brands, to the local flea market. I didn't have $20 in the whole bunch as one three blade Old Timer was bought for 10-cents.. The vendor I often check had a roll of Uncirculated 1964 Kennedy half dollars. In view of how important having Precious Metals physical ownership, I got $75 credit toward buying that 90% silver twenty coin roll. Today's adventure still shows that old knife makers' products span time and make good Barder.

The ones with the etchings are deer creek cutlery. All of the others are steel and they are very heavy but don't have a brand on them. I don't know much about these. I collect case, boker, schrade, frost, and other good brands and only buy other brands when they are a good deal. I am hoping to resell some of them to get money to buy some silver.

Outstanding - now, jump over to EBay (one) and start the bidding at $5 and see how high one goes Hunter612.

Well I would but my grandparents have an auction house and people pay a lot for cheap knives and spend a fortune on good knives I am going to see what I can get for them there. They will pay like $20 for cheap made in china knives. I think I may keep the deer creek cutlery knives. Also, my dad gets irritated when I sell stuff on eBay so I try to avoid it as much as possible.

Here are a few of the knives I am hoping to resell at auction. I have about $1 invested in each.

I wasn't offering them for sale here. In one of the posts above I said I was going to take them to my grandparents auction house. I was just posting more pictures.

Why? Granted, sometimes a piece will have more of a local interest, but I would think most items sell for more on ebay than the local auction house (family owned or not), business is business. But who knows, I could be wrong. Good luck, let us know how it turns out. I have a box full of vintage knives (no China, India or Pakistan). Every time I find another one at a sale I add to it.

I know you weren't trying to sell, comments were to any members who may think to make you an offer...

Ok, sorry, I guess I read your comment wrong. I read pretty fast and misunderstand stuff sometimes. Especially since it is summer break now and my brain has shut down after doing all of the schoolwork I did this year.

My dad doesn't like ebay because he thinks it is too much of a hassle. I think I would rather sell them at the auction anyway. They will sell at one of the next few auctions and I will post what they go for then.

Well for what you paid you'll make so money out of your investment . Although literally thousands of these etched or collectable knifes hit the market and most at made in China or India . In your post pic I see 24 or more knifes , how many are there ? I used to be able to buy similar knifes from a closeout store for three to four dollars each and never asked what discount I'd get if I bought them all , and some where Frost Cuttlery. The sellers maybe just broke even and you should at least double your investment , good luck . Woodstock

There are 24 total. The yard sale consisted of all of the inventory from a bait and tackle shop that closed down. I just asked her how much she wanted for all of the knives and she said $40 and she threw in some fishing lures.

The knives sold tonight. I had paid $1.50 for the NASCAR knives and they sold for $5 each. I paid $2 each for the wildlife knives and they sold for $5 each. Two of the better pocket knives that I paid $1.50 each for went for $17.50 each. I made about $30 on them after the 20% selling fee is subtracted.
