So I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about this. It's layered in gold. It tests positive for 10K with the acid test. The weight is 8 g. So wouldn't it be real gold? How much weight with the leaf have .5 g maybe. If it were melted down the leaf would just burn out of it and then it would be solid gold correct?

A bit outside of my expertise. I suppose you could weigh a similar leaf and get an idea. Take it to your scrap dealer and see if they will buy it.

My best understanding is:

They take a leaf and varnish it. Then it is coated in a base metal such as copper. Then the copper is gold plated.

My gold dealer sells "24k gold dipped roses" for $19.95 each. That should tell you something...
