It's me again Margaret...Enamel bird necklace (HEAVY)

Ideally, I need to find a good, scratch that, excellent resource (book, website...) on vintage jewelry.

Either way, this forum has been an tremendous resource to me. For that, I want to thank ALL of you.

So, I have another hard to identify piece. I probably won't part with this piece. I love it too much. I paid $12 for this one bc it "spoke to me". ;)

Enamel bird pendant with super heavy hand strung and knotted beads. They are probably dyed, but they sure are a wonderful shade of purple!!! (though the camera sure doesn't do the color any justice)

Any info on this piece (and/or a good resource) would be greatly appreciated.

Thx

Mandi

We sell a lot of vintage jewelry and learned a lot by simply watching YouTube videos. Just type in vintage or antique jewelry and start watching. There is a wealth of information out there. Also a great way to learn is study completed vintage jewelry sales on Ebay. It doesn't take long to start seeing your profits increase. One tip - also study modern jewelry made to look old/vintage so you do not get burned. Good luck!!

Not too vintage, but nice looking. Cloisonne bird. Here is a similar (not as good looking) one that sold for $45.00- Chinese Cloisonne Bead Figural Bird Stone Bead Necklace Knotted Strand | eBay

That one is VERY close. Now I have to find a way to fix it. My youngest (1.5 years old) pulled on it at a party on Saturday and the strand broke right at the bottom of the bird's foot. Luckily I'm crafty so I should be able to remove a brad or two...and good as new.

Floridahunter, thx for the tip. I'll definitely have to check out YouTube.

Decent piece, satisfying to the eye and desirable but lots of fake cloisonne out there! not certain how to tell if it's genuine.
