We were at a yard sale Saturday morning when my wife asked if they had any costume jewelry, the lady having the sale replied saying "no" but then said yes I do let me get it, she came back with a sandwich bag half full of jewelry and misc stuff, I offered her $5.00 and she said okay. I had spotted the Silver Strike casino chip so I knew I was ahead already. When I got home I checked out the contents and found some dental gold, (a nice surprise!) and some Sterling jewelry.Goodluck! and Happy hunting!.......Scott

Awesome score! Recently, I bought a small lot of men's jewelry at an auction it had 3 pieces of dental gold (2 fillings and one crown). They tested at 14K! I work in the dental field and know that the Karat is different especially on crowns due to the different labs making the crowns. It is usually 10-14K though.

Nice score!!...My Parents buy storage units and they get a TON of Costume jewlery....I always have to tell them to becareful with it, because they really know nothign about Silver and Gold Values...or to spot the real deal.

Costume jewelry can be valuable I've looked up items that seemed worthless only to find out it had serious value! Not even close to all costume jewelry is garbage as much of it has some if not a lot of value. Especially (in my experience) the old antique French & German stuff. Tho lots of the antique European stuff has some value. Even some of the somewhat modern US made stuff has value.
