1 Last thrift shop buy from today

I walked buy this jewelry box and do not know what caught my eye on it.I thought it was fabric covered,but on lefting the lid found out it was heavy and carved,and do not know for sure if it is soap stone or not but it leaves that same soapy feeling on your hands after rubbing it.Does anybody know what or who might be the maker? I gave 8.00 for it also Really hope some one can help on this one.

That's very detailed. Are you sure though its carved? It might be a cast resin though.
