I see now. The link you posted earlier takes me to a "FANTASTIC VINTAGE / ANTIQUE CARVED SAMURAI STERLING SILVER CAPPED CORKSCREW". I didn't notice earlier that it was not your ebay page, or the price. Didn't have my morning cup yet at the time.

I just found this at the top of that ebay link. I've been getting this a lot lately on recently completed listings, anyone else running into this?
"The listing you’re looking for is no longer available. Check out this similar item we found for you."

That's an "improvement" eBay has been trying out. Supposed to help buyers find what they are looking for. Like many "improvements" they didn't bother to consider that it makes it hard on a seller doing research on actual sold prices. I've heard they are going to abandon that. I know I've seen it less over the last week or so. When it shows up that way there is a very small link to the sold listing but I forget where it is (maybe left side above the similar listing??).

Where it says "The listing you are looking for is no available", the word "listing" is a hyper link that takes you to the auction you are looking for. It took me a while before I realized that as well. I was getting PO'd trying to research sold prices.

Looking at your completed auction, I'm shocked at the prices other vintage cork screws are getting as well. Who knew?

Here I thought it looked like some sort of medieval surgical tool, used for pulling your brains through your nostrils, post mortem. Like the Egyptians used to do during mummification. lol.

A few more recently sold cheapies...

Book was in a free box along with some RR stock certificates and other assorted ephemera. Sold for $24.94 shipped

These gold accented (real) roses were thrown in for free with a Murano vase that I bought for $5. Sold them for $40.94 shipped.

Bought this (unused) Polaroid filter set for $1 over the weekend, at a sale where I purchased a small collection of harmonicas and a bunch of other stuff for little to nothing. Sold for $24.95 shipped in less than 24 hours.

I've sold a ton for profit that I picked up for cheap. This doesn't really count t but still cool. The wife bought a Lego set and his it for the kids for Christmas a while back. Recently I was cleaning out a closet to paint and said huh...look what I found. Quick scan on ebay and sold it some day for 220.00. One of those items that got popular later...she paid 10.00 on clearance a few years back. Gotta check those closets!

I have to thank diggumup for this one, about a week after he posted the early edition AA book on here, I found this in a thrift shop for a quarter. Its a facsimile 1st edition, reproduced in 2015. I figured if the market was so hot for the old ones someone might want this reprint, ended up selling for $30 plus shipping on ebay.

For a second I thought you hit the jackpot, I'll bet you did too at first, lol. That condition would have brought over $1k. :icon_thumleft:

Also bought this buffalo nickel from a coin shop in my area for .25c.
Sold for $25 on eBay. Reason is because it’s a key date. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1535139339.983145.jpg

Here’s the back. It’s a 1913S.
The reason I was able to buy so low is because the date isn’t very legible unless in the right lighting.

Well I have not posted for a while but my $1.00 find was too good to keep to myself. Last one sold on eBay was $850 and it didn't even work. Mine has been keeping time for the last 6 plus hours so I'm happy with it.

I'm still hunting the elusive cheap Rolex myself. Good catch. Definitely needs a new strap though. That's probably how it ended up being a dollar. They dismissed it quickly because of the Speidel.

Found this at my town dump (recycle center) in the free pile. The man dropping it off said he had upgraded. It is a marine radar system. Sold on Craigs List for $850.

A few months back I went to a church rummage sale. I got there at 1:30 (they closed at 1, but they stayed open for me...) I ended up buying 6 Elementary Education books for $1 each. One book was a new wrapped set of books with Worksheets. The books said they were reproducable (that means the copyright to reproduce the sheets goes with each book, you can make as many copies as you want without breaking the copyrights of the manufacturer. This is like GOLD to a teacher). I paid $1 for the 2 books shrink wrapped. I've sold 3 of the six books for $20 to $25 each. Last night I sold the Reproducable books for $149.99. Now the low price on Amazon is $209.99.

I generally price about 5% or 10% below the lowest amazon price. I get into a reverse auction each of us dropping the price on the other until one of us gives up. I put mine up for $199.99, they went to 199.98 (I hate that). I went to 179.99, they went to 179.98 I went to 159.99, they went to 159.98. I went to 149.99, they went to $209.99, so I went back up, and the whole process started again, so I dropped to $149.99 and kept it there for 2 months.
