Just heard those keychain pets are up in price but I'm shocked at that price.

Recent rummage sale purchase was a large plastic tote FILLED with hand painted needlepoint canvases. Probably 50-60 canvases? I knelt down to look at them and to see what the sign on the bin said, figuring it was probably a per piece price... nope! It said "All for $8.00". Just as I was getting super excited the seller sees me looking and says "Oh, my gosh you can have it for $3.00... I just want to be rid of them!" Don't need to do any more convincing! So per piece price is pennies!

So far they've all sold in the $30-$40 range/each. Barely scratched the surface and already almost $200 sold.

Bonus of course is that they're lightweight and non-breakable so easy shipping.

Needlepoint stuff can be very, very good to you - embroidery thread, handpainted canvases (especially signed/known designer), kits, good wooden hoops (Duchess, Princess, Royal, Queen - if felt-lined check that felt isn't moth chewed). Most can be found relatively cheaply as well.

Had to update again on the $3 bin purchase. Current running total is $1,262.50 and there may still be several hundred dollars worth of needlepoint canvases to sell. This is the yard sale purchase that just keeps giving.

Thanks for posting WoodnHead. After your original post, I found 110 kits for $30 at an estate sale. I probably would have ignored them without seeing your post. Over $800 sold, so far, with about 60 left to sell.

    Plastic, paper, glass, china

We are in the era of plastic collectibles. Got the Tupperware salt and pepper for $.75 and sold for $25
Got the Viking Glass red ashtray for $32
Got the Cadillac Hotel plate for $1 and sold for $77
I am cheating a little on the Yugioh cards. I pick them up cheap when I find them and lot them up. This is three lots from three different sales for $1 each. Sold for $82.

It seems I spent way too much time and money buying Baseball cards back in the day and I should have been buying Yugioh, Magic, and Pokémon. I guess you got to see what kids are into because they will buy it again in 20-30 years. It was always adults at baseball card shows in the 80's and 90's.

I am really missing Garage Sale season...

Just saw your post EagleRidge. Excellent! Love to hear that! My final total on the bin was $1,419.49. So of course I was at a local sale just before the virus breakout. Picked up about a hundred more needlepoint kits, threads and single patterns. All the patterns were $1 each, kits ranged from $3-$5. Best $5 kit sold for $145, best single pattern at $1 sold for $65. Don't even get me started on needlepoint silk-skeins. Cross stitch ladies are serious about their stuff!
