Someone suggested a thread for $1 finds. So here it is. I'll start with a few recent ones.

Here is a copper pitcher that is all beat up and dented with a couple holes in the bottom too. Paid $1 sold (less than 24 hours) for $29.99 + shipping-

Here is a Robert Held Art Glass paperweight that was bought last weekend for $1, it sold in less than a day for $21.99 w/free shipping-

$_57.JPG

Here is a little Black Forest picture frame that I also got last weekend for .50, it too sold in less than 24 hours for $29.99 w/free shipping.

I don't have pictures, but have picked up a bunch of things for $1 or less and sold for $10-20+

Nothing incredible, but I am happy with them:

-Two brass tokens from 1976 featuring towns in Mass. In a lot of junk jewelry and misc items, probably paid $0.25 when it all worked out for these. Listed twice at 99cents (before I knew not to!) with no bids, and then a bidding war broke out and they sold for $20-25!

-Two Boston Police? guessing late 1800's two piece buttons. Paid 25 cents each, sold for over $10

-Several small antique medicine bottles for $0.25-$1 each. Various selling prices, but most worth the trouble.

-Silver plated coaster set for $0.89, sold for $13+ shipping

-Lots of hats for $1, selling $8-$15

-grey Goose pewter stemmed martini glass, paid $0.50, sold $15.50+ shipping

Just a few I can think of.... hoping to do even more now that flea market/yard sale season is here. I ended up moving towards clothing more than I wanted since it was hard to find things worth the time to sell on eBay at goodwill. Either overpicked or overpriced.

hmmm... recently the only thing worth mentioning was a brooks brothers bow tie, got it for .99 at a thrift store and sold it for $25 I think. However, I just listed two hats that I got for $1 and .50, started them both at $69.99 and one has a watcher already. I'm feeling good about them, hopefully I can get a pretty massive return.

Last summer I picked up a copy of pokemon Fire Red for GBA for $1 and traded it for 1 oz of silver(American Silver Eagle).
Got a DS Lite for free cause the owner thought it was broken, it wasn't, sold within the week for $40.
Picked up a tin full of Yu-Gi-Oh cards for a buck sold about a month later for $20.
Yeah, this just makes me realize how much of my dealings are local... hmmm.

Arnold Palmer 2 Albumn LP Set

Had this on for a long time. I just saw that there was going to be a 3 night Arnie's Army TV tribute To Mr. Palmer. Shipped it today... $10.00 = shipping. Paid .50 cents for it. My wife wanted to give it to GW 6 months ago, but I knew it would finally sell.

I bought a tester used in agriculture for less than $1 at an auction, and sold it for $299 in just a few hours. I am a very blessed man.

I have not sold the recent $1 finds yet. I was going to send these two to the scrapyard but if you sold yours for $29 I might try selling it before I Scrap them.

One very recent score was finding a stack of new high school text books for .50 each. I've sold three so far, averaging $80 each. I never thought that they would sell...I really didn't.

I found a stack of year books for the biggest HS in the area, and everyone of them sold to one guy for $45 each. Paid .50 each, and IIRC, he bought 4 of them. Sold in about 2 hours, and again, I thought I would be sitting on those for years.

Bought a TALL stack of needlepoint patterns. I think I averaged about 8 cents each on those. Nearly all have sold for $19.99 each, but a few sold for $12-$14. The pattern that I thought would bring $50...I can't even get a bid on that one. Nonetheless, we made killer money on those patterns.

My wife found a box of train cars about a month ago. She knows nothing about trains. We paid $1 each for those, and one single car sold for $105. One little kit sold for $22, and several cars sold for $17 to $20 each. The remainder of the cars will go to a train show or an antique mall for $6 each.

I am sitting here trying to think of my better recent $1 scores, but quite frankly, they all run together after a while. At one time, I thought it would be impossible to forget all the ebay deals I've done, but honestly, they all are starting to run together.

All in all, I have been very blessed, and am thankful for our finds.

Found a british 1871 penny under some guys other stuff at a flea market and got it for $1.00! It's one of the key dates and worth way more than what I got it for! The picture quality sucks and it's in better shape than it looks! (: image-3750801083.jpg image-63303365.jpg

My favorite thrift store sells hardback books for 50 cents. I got a few textbooks there, I got over $60 for one, from Amazon's trade-in program.

This is my most recent find for less than $1. It was only 15cents. In a basket of scrap jewelry for crafts. It is marked 14k on the charm and chain. It weighs a total of 8 grams. Did a happy dance after that one

I just passed up some text books today. Maybe I ought to go back and get 'em.

My best recently was a Zelda game. Paid a buck and got $30.

I think my two best dollar (or under) finds came from the same sale. I haven't sold them, but I did recently have them appraised. First, I found an 18th Century bronze Buddha Head statue that I paid $0.50 for and it was appraised by an Asian Arts dealer for $500-750. Second -- and everyone except the appraiser laughed at me when I showed them this one -- is an old ceramic Chinese statue that I paid $1.00 and the appraiser estimated the value at $250 in its current condition but said that in its hey day would have fetched $500. Not too bad. I also found two stone samples from the Sutro Tunnel in Nevada with original labels on them (same sale, $1.00 for both) but I haven't had them appraised. There is a museum in NV that wants them though, so they do have historic value at least. Man, that was a good sale. Mid afternoon too!

Small Antique Copper Watering Can 6" Vintage Art Decor | eBay Personally i'd put the watering can out there for the same $29.99 I sold mine for, even though the one I linked to didn't sell for that much.
Maybe offer free shipping on it though. The planter... ehh, not so much.
