I grabbed an entire drawer full of misc stuff for $15 and it had some great items. I don't know what the gauge is used for and the metal working items should sell, all the carbon inserts are NOS over 60 of them. Thanks for looking.

That's a gloat for sure, Marty. I do machining, and that's a great buy for $15. The gauge is a dial-indicator. That one reads in 10,000ths of an inch. Probably has a 1" range.

If you ever find more of the cutting bits, and are sure they are carbide, pick them up! It doesn't matter if they are used or not, people will pay good money for the metal.

I didn't know that until I was searching listings and you are correct, people do buy the used ones even if they have no life left in them. I have about 70 NOS ones.

Just make sure those diamond/triangular shaped one are in the package if you are buying them for resale. There isn't mush by way of standards when It comes to cutting bits for lathes. Depending on the year/model/type, there are lots of different tool posts/cutting bits for every application. I walked away from a large pile of nos non carbide bits because there was nothin to tell me what they were used for. Machine tools are a great money but there is quite a sharp learning curve. I've made some gut calls and later found out that I avoided a huge loss due to not being familiar with the tools I was looking at. I suggest you pick up an Enco catalog and start reading. You will see what I mean

I worked in machine shops some in the early 60s, the mid 60s, and mid 70s. Yes, you have a treasure trove there if you find the right buyers! Just glancing through those pics, I believe I can say that I have used most of those types of tools. I've used a dial indicator gauge when grinding crankshafts for motors and most of the cutting tools when cutting metals when using engine and turret lathes.
