We were in PA this weekend and hit lots of sales and flea markets, Zerns and Jakes. We hit an old barn falling down with an old man with very few words, alot of hand jestures and grunts and then the few words to complete the sale. Got the oil can for $15 and the car radio for $5 and the yardsticks for $27 he wouldnt budge on the sticks. The radio is from a late 60s GTO Judge and is a real real good find and will get very good money untested and sold as is. The Pyrex and the cool Schaeffer clock were from sales and were $5 and $35. On the way home we stopped at a sale at 5:15 right as they were closing and COULD NOT believe the slide rule was staring at me with a $5 price tag I asked her to throw in the pamplets with the deal and she said ok. The slide rule is a goodie and MINTY. alot more stuff that we weren't able to post because we haven't unpacked the car. We got a ton more Pyrex. Thanks to the guy here that steered on to the Pyrex. Having fun with that treasure and also the yardsticks.

Nice finds for sure. I will add that when buying Pyrex, condition means everything. Fading, utensil marks, scratches, all hurt the value. Nice atomic looking Schaefer clock. The radio is a home run as you know. The slide rule, a grand slam, ridiculous prices on those! The yardsticks, I'll keep an eye out for. I have a few but I will buy all that I see from now on, now that I know there is a market for them. The oil can is actually a gas measuring can used to test the accuracy of gasoline pumps. Cool piece of Petroliana. All in all, you did real good, congrats!

Thanks for the info on the can. More than half the places we hit were in the country and the people having the sales Ill bet didn't have a computer or cell phone. No I guarantee it. One place we stopped was a dark barn, he let me look around and I said I need to find the flashlight on my phone to see, "I cuanttt helllp you with that". Landline phone guy definitely, He had 40 years of stuff piled high rusting and bird crap all over the top boxes. Cant wait to go back and tell him I want to dig deeper. It was a treat to go to sales where everything is not ebay this price and that.

The last time I ran into a sale like that was in Tennessee about 10 years ago. We weren't even looking for a garage sale, just happened upon it. We were in a shiny black Monte Carlo (rental) and the first thing the old guy says as we got out was," that's a miiighty fine auto-mo-bile you got there son, in a thick Tn. hills draw. Bought an original mego starsky and hutch car in the box and the figures too as well as a few other good items from him. I ended up selling that car for over $300 without the stripes decals that were toasted from age/heat.
