Well that looks a little better than the stuff I'm addicted too. Starts with 14k... Can be pricey! I don't know very much about tools but looks like you have a nice hull there!

Tell me how I can help ya digg's. I see S&P's every where. What should I look for? If there silver and cheap, I keep. I do remember finding a couple of Japan .950 in the past I either sold or scraped?

around here, I can sell ball pein hammers for a small premium.. keep the good names out of course for the collector value, but I have several guys that turn them into primitive hatchets at the pioneer rondevous. they explain they would rather pay for a hammer with more or less known quality of steel and already have a hole for a handle than trying to forge a piece of iron from scratch. they said forging the hole is one of the more difficult things to do when making a hatchet so the ball pein hammer is perfect for them to turn into a good hatchet. I have to admit, I would have never thought of that. Even the ones I used to scrap as in beat up, chipped faces, etc... I can now sell to those guys.

Nooo! I don't need any more of them. LOL. I still buy vintage ones when I see them for $1 or less though, I can't help myself. I sold this set for $100 recently, yeah seriously-




I buy hammers every now too and then but I use them myself. Nothing beat a good Estwing 22 or 24 oz. straight claw for a dollar.

I purchased my first lot of S&P shakers this past weekend - same auction as the boxes.

It's a terrible picture (did a cut and paste and crop from the original posting online ).

The lot has a Black Sambo set and a Runameade (?sp) pheasant set. Those two sets alone should net at least $100, likely more. Hard to say with the Sambo pieces.

Now, enter my curiosity since we are on the topic of S&P shakers. Why were the buyers after the Christmas shakers lot?
